Demonology Section

Please note

The field of Demonology is a very serious subject. We, LIPRI, are capable of helping situations and/or cases dealing with the demonic BUT only with the guidance and help from both the Church and our Religious Demonologist, David G. Scott. It is also important to know that NO group is capable of investigating demonic type cases unless they themselves have a Demonologist/Lay Religious Demonologist/Religious Demonologist and/or the help from the Church to some capacity.

Most of the material within the Demonology section of this website is under the direct work and authorization of David G. Scott, a Religious Demonologist and consultant for LIPRI and is intended for educational purposes only. We urge you to read the following articles regarding the subject as it is very informative. If you feel that you have a possible demonic infestation we urge you to contact us immediately and we will start the process accordingly.

We here at LIPRI would like to thank David for allowing us to use his articles on our website and for offering his services to our clients.

Note: Any articles with an asterisk (*) beside the title indicates that the information contained is based mainly, but not solely, on the Catholic tradition. It is important to know and remember that NO Christian denomination has authority over the other, and that every denomination has their own particular requirements for Religious Demonology.

How to become a Religious Demonologist

By David G. Scott – Religious Demonologist

This is an article that I have wanted to write for a while now. I have had many people ask me about becoming a Religious Demonologist, and how to go about doing it. The title pretty much says it all. To be a Religious Demonologist you need to do your training and studying through, and with the help of the church. Read more

Disclaimer Dealing with a Demonic Haunt

By Noah J. Ankney – Director

I decided to write this article to help those who are dealing with the paranormal and you truly believe this to be the work of prenaturnal entities (demons). Everything that needs to be said is already written by our Religious Demonologist, David G. Scott on the Demonology page alone, but I want to bring to light a few things that can only worsen your situation.

History of Demonology

By David G. Scott – Religious Demonologist

Through out history the Catholic Church has played a major role in the development and history of demonology. It’s more than a belief system; it’s a field of work and study too. Now as far as trying to give it an official start date, the closest date that could be used would be around 590 A.D. It was in the mid to late 600’s A.D. that the church began to actually assign demons their ranks and names. It is important to remember that when the church first began to develop and expand this field that many of the church leaders had varying ideas and beliefs about demons.

Demons Part 1

By David G. Scott – Religious Demonology

The history of demons goes back to the beginning of time itself. Demons did not always exist however. They were created as angels before man was created. As angels they were good in nature just like all the others, as God intended them to be. However, pride led to the downfall of many of them. It was this pride that caused these angels to not only think but to even believe that they were equal to God Himself. It was this pride that caused them to think that they did not have to stay in their assigned roles or duties, and thus put themselves above God and rule over even Him (Jude 6). Lucifer, who was the leader of this rebellion, would become known as Satan and the angels that followed him became demons.

Demons Part 2

By David G. Scott – Religious Demonologist

This article is a continuation of the first one that I wrote. In the first article I touched on some of the basics about demons, and their rebellion. In the first article I referred mostly to the demons that were cast out of Heaven in the rebellion with Satan and are now being kept in chains in the pits of nether gloom until the last judgment. That is the “Fallen Angels.” However that was only some of the demons. Not all of them were cast into pits of nether gloom and/or out of Heaven. I also went into a little detail about the appearance of demons. In this article I will be discussing the other demons, their kingdom, as well as one of the most popular misconceptions about them, which is their “names.”

Demonology 101

By David G. Scott – Religious Demonologist

Demonology is the study of demons and devils, their origins, powers, limitations, and reason for existence. Simply put, demons and devils are “Fallen Angels”. They are the former angels that rebelled with Lucifer against God before man was created. It is not known however the exact number of demons in general. (For the purpose of this page when I refer to demons that will also include devils) What I can tell you though is that 1/3 of the angels in heaven did rebel against God with Lucifer, and their numbers never increase or decrease. It always stays the same.

*What is a Demonologist?

By David G. Scott – Religious Demonologist

This page is for a specific reason. That reason is to educate people on what exactly a Religious Demonologist is. A R. Demonologist is a person (male or female) that studies demons, devils, their powers, limitations, origins, reason for existence, etc. Most people believe that if they read one or two books about demons that they are R. Demonologists. This couldn’t be further from the truth! To be a R. Demonologist you have to continually study more than a dozen different subjects. Some of those subjects are Anthropology, Psychology, Theology, and that’s not even scratching the surface. You also have to study, and be knowledgeable in subjects like Voodoo, Witchcraft, etc. Even more importantly, you have to have support and backing from the church.

Possession

By David G. Scott – Religious Demonologist

This article was written for the purpose of educating people on the subject of possession and how it can and does happen. This is a subject that a lot of people find both interesting and fascinating. Some times for the wrong reasons. One of the most common questions that people have asked me is how does a person become possessed? Well, let me go ahead and put some of you at ease by telling you that a demon simply can not jump in to you and take control of you. It just doesn’t work that way. There are three (3) very specific stages that must occur before someone can become a victim of possession. They are infestation, oppression, and finally possession.

*Exorcism

By David G. Scott – Religious Demonologist

This is a subject that fascinates many people. It is also a subject that most people truly don’t understand. An exorcism is a religious ritual that is performed by the Roman Catholic Church when someone is believed to be possessed by a demon. There is no other Christian denomination that performs this ritual. It is exclusively a Catholic ritual. The exorcism ritual can be a very long and grueling one for all that are involved. An exorcism can last anywhere from a few hours, days, months, even years. To my knowledge the Roman Catholic Church has only confirmed five exorcisms in the United States.

Demonic Infestations

By David G. Scott – Religious Demonologist

I decided to write this article so that people can understand how different a paranormal case is to that of a demonic case. First and foremost it’s what you’re dealing with, that is a demon. Secondly, it’s the type of equipment you use. Third, it’s how you conduct the investigation. Finally, it’s what you do, or have to do once the investigation is over. I will address each of these one at a time so as to be able to understand them better.

Blessing a Home

By David G. Scott – Religious Demonologist

This is a subject that can be surprisingly complicated. I say that because most people truly don’t understand what is involved when it comes to blessing a home. First off, not just anyone can bless a home like some people would lead you to believe. Only the Clergy or a Religious Demonologist has the right to bless a home, and can do it successfully. Now of course there are always going to be people that say they can do it even if they aren’t Clergy, or a R.D. The fact of the matter is that anyone can do it, it just won’t work properly. Anyone can go through the motions of blessing a home. The problem is that they don’t really expel what is in the home. Usually they just make it worse.

Spirit Vs Spirit

By David G. Scott – Religious Demonologist

One of the main issues that all paranormal teams have is trying to figure out what type of spirit they’re dealing with. This can be very difficult, if not impossible for some if they do not know what to look out for as far as activity is concerned, as well as what the client describes concerning how things (activity) in the home makes them feel.

Ouija Boards

By David G. Scott – Religious Demonologist

This is another article that I have been meaning to write for some time now, and it is a subject that needs to be addressed. Everyone has heard of the Ouija board. It is a very popular board game that a lot of people have used. The board itself has no “mystical or magical” powers. It is used when people wish to try and communicate with spirits. I strongly disagree with its use and do not recommend it to anyone for any reason, especially during a paranormal investigation. If a paranormal team tells you that they use one during the course of their investigation, I would not allow it to be done in the home.

Territorial Demons

By David G. Scott / Religious Demonologist

Territorial Demon(s) is not something that many people have ever heard of, including paranormal investigators. However, the name pretty much explains what they are. A territorial demon is a demon that has laid claim to a property. In this article I will address the very basics on territorial demons. Read more

Importance of Counseling

By David G. Scott Religious Demonologist

The subject of counseling is an extremely important one. It is most unfortunate, but, most paranormal teams don’t understand just how important it is. As a matter of fact, most of the teams will usually assume that the case is over once their investigation has been completed, and if they have found a Church or one of its designees, that can and will expel the demon. Hello Edward,

Thank you for leaving a comment. As far as becoming a demonologist it is not an easy task by any means. David can explain it better than I can and I am still posting his articles and it actually answers your question. I am currently studying myself and it takes on average 4-8yrs. I will post it within the next 5 minutes.

Hello and thank you for the kind words. The articles in the demonology section are from the work of a great friend of ours David G. Scott from NADP in North Carolina. He gave us, and some other groups, written consent to use the articles on our website. David is a Religious Demonologist trained and ordained by the Church and is a sweet, gracious man. His website can be found at http://www.nademonicparanormal.com/. If you wish to link to our website that would be great as well :)
