Membership Process with LIPRI

Due to our sudden increase in membership to LIPRI, we figured we would shed some light in the process that comes with applying for membership. First, before you even apply you should read over our website and get to know who we are and how we investigate. We do not work with psychics, mediums, we are not orb chasers, and we do not practice in the occult. Everything we do is from a very scientific view point. We approach each investigation from a skeptic view point while keeping an open mind so we aren’t blinded by logical fallacies.

So you looked over our website, liked what you see, and still want to apply.  First thing is first, you fill out our online application. This is just basic information to get the application process started.  Once this is filled out and submitted, our team manager or one of the founders will respond to the application within 12-24 hours.  Typically right away depending on when it was submitted.

When the team manager responds, they inform you again of what our team is about, what to expect, etc. At the end of the e-mail you are asked if you are still interested to please respond to the e-mail. We keep asking if you are interested because in the past we have had a bad turn around time once they figure out how much work goes into the group. So, if you are still on par with being a member and respond to the e-mail, the team manger will then send an in-depth questionnaire.

The in-depth questionnaire consists of 30 questions.  First, it’s your basic “employment” application. You fill out your basic information such as address, phone numbers, etc.  Then the series of 30 questions ranging from personal to paranormal questions.  This allows us to get to know you, your background, etc.  As always, be truthful.  No reason to lie as no answers will disqualify you for membership. Once you complete the application, send it back to the team manager for our review.  We review the application and then contact the applicant for an initial interview.

The interview typically takes place at a public location such as Starbucks. During this interview we will go over your application, ask the applicant a series of questions, you know, your typical “job” interview. A typical interview lasts anywhere from 1-3 hours.

After the interview, our group will hold a meeting to go over everything compiled during the interview process.  This process is voted on by all members. Once a decision is reached we will contact the applicant with our decision as soon as possible.

If accepted, the applicant is accepted on a probationary status of 3-6 months, depending on advancement. During this time, the applicant will be thoroughly trained on all aspects of the paranormal.  If we feel the applicant has not met the requirement to become a full time member, the probationary period may be extended.

What our training involves is for another day and is far too much to discuss at the present moment.  We will add another post with that information down the road.  If at anytime there are any questions, pleas feel free to contact us at contact@lipri.org!
